All follower jobs have their strengths and weaknesses, for example, excavators are amazing at gathering resources, decent in combat but horrible in construction. Wanderers (base class) are adept at all trades and can throw stones, Stalkers are better at defense/offense but are terrible at any construction or economic job.

Needing to balance everything is a fine line without a lot of flexibility. A particularly early game where losing a follower is incredibly punitive, especially when a follower struggles to manage a tool store (reducing their current population) which makes the choice of having that extra hand now or those extra tools a little more difficult. I will say that making any mistake, no matter how small, is incredibly punitive in every way, especially since the walls are incredibly weak. I understand that as a hero you have to help the defense manually, but it feels like if I just turn my head the wall falls and I have to spend precious and precious resources to replace a wall, over and over and over again. again. more than. time. again.
