Courageous completion of headquarters missions is rewarded with an extra budget for the unit under your command and acceptance of your growing reputation as a submarine commander. You will need this to improve your ship and keep up with the technological advances of the enemy. The simulation elements of the game are very realistic, but this never comes at a cost to the quality of the game.

Despite the extensive simulation elements, UBOAT can be played as a regular game and complex issues can be learned later to become a better commander for the commanded unit. Even small things, such as the influence of the ballast in each compartment on the level (tilt) of the ship or the curvature of the Earth, are faithfully reproduced in the game. Perfection can be achieved in many ways. Demonstrate your management skills and quickly assign the work of your officers to speed things up.
