It is a party role-playing game with a team of three people made up of nine classes. Each character has their own unique deck consisting of five community cards and four class-specific beginners. Each character’s main deck is considered essentially fixed at a size that allows the player to replace any of these nine spaces with more advanced cards drawn from a particular kind of group. Or they can choose to replace the existing card, basic or advanced, with an updated version. This attempt to build a deck strikes an interesting balance, and it’s been pretty rare for me that deciding what to do was an absolutely obvious choice.

A fixed-size also helps keep each character’s deck relatively manageable, as a more traditional multi-character approach can make the size awkward. There are rare circumstances where an actor will pick up an additional Trait card in their main deck that cannot be overwritten or changed instead of requiring action to be taken. The game, like most of this format, has two modes: ground section and combat.
