The main game consists of sprint races that appear on semi-deserted tracks in the western part of the United States. There are only five different maps, but the length of the game increases as you go. However, the scene is only slightly different. There is a grassy forest scene, a beach scene, a mountain scene, and two other forest scenes. However, you won’t exactly be looking at the sights as you cruise by at breakneck speed. And they really are neck breakers. One of the cool things about Road Rash is that you have a health bar for your body and your bike. This means that you can’t just run into things, and it also means that you need to avoid fighting with the police, other bikers, and cars. This adds a certain level of balance to the player versus AI opponents, making it confusing and fun in and out of traffic. Cars pose a big threat because hitting them can throw you into the air like a ragdoll.

While it can make you lose the race, watching it is a sight to behold and can elicit a laugh or a scream every time. There isn’t much of a story, other than “pretend you’re not a cop”. This is because it is a racing game, which is perfectly fine. The game holds up well enough without a story that is just great competition. If they could make a good story, that would be great, but at this stage the gameplay is good. Buying all bikes without a story is difficult, but definitely a goal. Outside of some pre-blooming races, the interaction with other characters isn’t really there. They usually give you a tip or word of encouragement before each race. After the first level, it seems like everything wants to kill you. Bikers and policemen probably do, but normal pedestrians in their yellow cars shouldn’t! It also causes some problems, because when two cars take the road at the same time after a blind turn, you have nowhere to go. Go ahead and hit the cars as usual.

The graphics of the game have a very nice appeal to them. Cars from a distance are easy to spot so you don’t hit them right away. If there is a way to place it on a different side it would greatly improve how the game plays. The visuals are still quite interesting, except that there is a bit more brown.
