The fight now feels fluid instead of rigid combos with three blows and awkward straps from the past. The narrative pace is also massively improved here. This is almost all I hoped for from a continuation of psychonauts, but more. The plot is incredible, even if I wish the ending was a few minutes longer. It’s constantly emotional, funny, and entertaining.

An incredible job has been done here. The images are the same, with some of the most creative levels and art designs you can find in the entire environment. The levels themselves may not eclipse classics like The Milkman Conspiracy, Lunfishopolis, or Waterloo World, but there are some really memorable, compelling places to see that I won’t soon forget.

Compared to the first game, the brain worlds are much more dynamic and are even better not only providing a general feeling for a character’s mental state but also connecting to events that happen in the real world while working on the characters’ stories and twisting/deforming everything together. Real-life locations are also well-made and fun to explore. The story, the world, the dialogues, and the characters are everything you would expect from the series and then some. The game mechanics seem similar in general to the first game but also extended with new powers and upgrades to play with.
