This game, as you should know from other reviews and by being one of the best-selling games of all time, leaves an effect on the player. It’s a beautiful story. Play as a female test subject throughout the campaign. She is forced by many tests prepared by GLaDOS. You learn a lot about this character as you go around the room with puzzles and learn a lot about yourself. The programmed “idiot” (which you will find out through the game) is something you have to take care of because you think it helps you get rid of it. It’s a smart turn. You will find that the industry you are escaping from was a shower curtain/parts factory. Yes, everything will make sense when you play.

The story has improved a lot since the first game, there is now a more visible narrative, between Old Villain (Glados), a new character (Whitley), and the playable character (Chell). There is also a lot of The Origin of Aperture Science, which makes it an interesting and solid game to go through. The game has a basic mechanic, Portal Gun, a weapon that shoots 2 different portals through which you can pass. It might be simple, but the game still gives you new things to work on throughout the chapters, which makes it much more challenging to move on in the game. This game is hilarious, not only of the well-written jokes told by the characters, but because the environment has some hidden details that are so funny, I definitely recommend you to read the plates and frames around the map.

Then there’s the Portal 2 multiplayer mode with Atlas and P-body that tries to free people or whatever. That in itself (with a partner) is totally worth many Friday nights. Now that you are implementing items/loads in the game (or hats/mockery/clothes/flags for those who are unsure of the term), the game will be more interesting. Now, I may not have many hours, but I assure you that I defeated multi-player in about 4 hours, and single-player in 3. That is, the rest of my hours come from exploring several / community maps. And that’s the amazing thing about this game no matter how many times you beat it, it’s still fun. Also, playing multiplayer with a different friend each time makes you learn a lot about their creativity/teamwork/leadership / mental abilities.

The campaign is, of course, one of the single-player game modes. The difficulty curve is well done, the humor is always well executed and there are plenty of places to listen to additional dialogues if you feel like waiting to see what happens. Then, of course, the cooperative is a solid continuation of the single-player mentioned, but it continues the curve with the addition of the second set of portals and, of course, another person to cooperate with. I have a lot of good memories with friends and random ones alike, especially when you have to decide if you really want to solve right then and there or if you want to move the bridge on which your partner is based. And to end it all, there is a ranking system that allows you to go the least time/portals with friends. So far I check my scores from time to time to make sure no one has beaten them and it is always a pleasant surprise when someone has it.
