You can’t judge this game by looking at it once, you will need to play it for yourself to see if it is for you which the game is very attractive to its new players.

Geometry Dash has such a simple game that it assumes (rightly) that you will not need a tutorial to get the basics of it. The game is quite simple: you control a block that slides alone, and your goal is to reach the end of the level in one piece. Of course, throughout the level, you will encounter several obstacles and enemies waiting to fail to show their claws of death. There is simple control, performed by touching anywhere on the screen (provided it is not the pause button). This will cause the token to blow up. Holding the screen will make you jump repeatedly while jumping inside specific floating spheres will give you another jump in the air. That’s it, tap until you reach the finish line and you’ll be fine.

As we can see, the game is quite simple, but since it has a very fast pace and obstacles are placed cleverly, the game can become super complicated. However, even if it gets very complicated, you never feel that the game is cheap and kills you for its own fun. The stages are very well designed and therefore you need to know what you are doing and not just try things at random to succeed. This is why, when eliminating a level, you have a huge sense of accomplishment, just as when you pass that exam you think it is impossible. As the game adds components in a very imaginative but unpredictable way, the levels get harder and harder as you progress.

You end up discovering many of the elements you encounter through trial and error. For example, the first time you see these double-jump globes mentioned above, you will have no way of knowing what they are for (well, you will know, because you read this article first). There is a level in which your character jumps in a kind of spaceship and flies through the levels. This is a lot of fun and honestly not that complicated, but the fact that it comes out of nowhere can disappoint you and the game will end for you. There are no checkpoints: if you die, you die. The only way back is to repeat the whole level. This is not problematic because the levels are probably 30 seconds each. But don’t let that fool you: you can get stuck in one of these for hours.
