Blasphemous Download For PC is an action game developed by The Game Kitchen and published by team 17. Blasphemous Game Download was released on 10 Sep 2019. The game plays like a stronger interpretation of a Metroidvania. There are no crazy movement skills – even double jumps or wall jumps are not a thing. The number of enemies is largely attenuated, focusing on a more strategic approach to combat, with parry and dodging, instead of broken buttons. It has a healing mechanism inspired by “souls”, in which you have a set of healing objects that are completed each time you “rest” at a certain structure similar to the altar, which also heals you. And due to the same influence, enemies reappear as soon as you rest, while otherwise, they remain dead even if you move between rooms or locations. Blasphemous meaning is sacrilegious against God or sacred things.

Even the mechanics of death involve leaving a mark on the world that you have to pick up, except that it is not as punitive as in some of the games that present this concept. With so many updates since the release, the game has grown to have a lot of very useful upgrades that definitely make the game more enjoyable and I honestly don’t think I would have liked the game without them. The same updates add more challenging content, though it’s mostly optional. That being said, I managed to come across the new “true end” introduced in the final update completely accidentally, by my nature I like to explore as much before doing any fighting with the bosses, and the final path becomes quite a ridiculous closer to resolution. . Honestly, I don’t know why the game goes so hard occasionally, especially since most of the time the solution to the problem is to manage the equipped objects, which is more of a chore than a fun part of the game, considering how many items there are.

That being said, some areas are simply rude. I decided not to try the Bloodstained crossover areas anymore, for example, because for whatever reason, those areas play as ridiculous locations for precision platforms that have an incredibly tight timing. So tight, in fact, that while most sections have “climb to try again” parts, it’s useless to – if you don’t do everything perfectly, there’s never enough time to finish them. I’d rather give a quick restart button. Most of the game’s main locations aren’t quite like that, but you may still come across a section from time to time that’s just designed to be frustrating, rather than fun or challenging. It’s a lot of fun to explore, though, with lots of great (and creepy) locations, accompanied by a great soundtrack and a solid voice for the characters. Everything is very “strange” and cryptic, but the story is told in a way that is largely easy to understand.

It is not captivating, but again the emphasis is more on the world and the atmosphere than on a traditional story. I probably would have gone and finished the game again, just to explore it again, but in a different order for other endings, if the new game plus option (added as one of the early updates) hadn’t been created. and the game “Harder.” But hey, the game wants to be “challenging” rather than fun, and its main audience likes it, so I can understand that.
