CAMPAIGN
This is a great game with an in-depth campaign that goes through the stories of a Scottish explorer and his sons/daughters. The campaign is interesting and introduces different styles of play, from macro-managing to micro-management with scavenging and hoarding. Definitely worth thinking about, for Age of Empires III and Age of Empires III: War Chiefs. Age of Empires III: Asian dynasties are fun, but the campaign has nothing to do with either of the other two expansions.
GAMEPLAY
Age of Empires III Complete Collection offers a brilliant fighting system that no longer requires the precise delegation of finite resources, but allows a macro-scale battle. By allowing some players to turtle and others to expand, depending on how you play, you can grow or stay at home. The exploitation of gold and the gathering of food will always have better results than the cultivation of gold and food. Not only can you focus on different resource harvesting strategies, but you can also use different strategies in your fighting choices. You can buy mercenaries that cost only gold or even capture hometowns and create tribal units. This can allow you to vary your tactics depending on the environment you are in, as well as your team.
